The Subway is the best bargain - clean, fast, and quiet, it runs from the train station in the north past People's Square, along Huaihai Road, through Xujiahui to Jinjiang Amusement Park. Stops are announced in English as well as Chinese.

Climate of Shanghai
The best time to visit Shanghai is autumn (October & November). The temperature during this period is mild and rain is less likely than in spring and summer. Shanghai's weather is moderate (annual average temperature is about 15 degrees centigrade) and the seasons are not as distinct as in the North. Shanghai is characterized by a warm spring, hot summer, cool autumn and cold winter.
